Dec 7th. Naples Florida.

So Good morning everyone and welcome to our next phase and new trip across America by car, it all started when we got off the cruise ship this morning and said goodbye to our family and got a mini bus to the car rental terminal at the airport or so we thought we ended up at the cruise port terminal and the problems started as we had pre ordered a standard SUV they stated that they only had cars, so we really didn’t have a choice and took the car understanding that we could change it out when we got to Naples later today, so we got into our metalic brown horrible car and set the SatNav to our hotel and headed off, well literally after 10 mins we were heading the wrong way down the i75 as the SatNav took us towards Miami. We laughed it off and turned around and were on the famous Alligator Alley in no time and after about an hour we were close to the hotel but as the lady at the car rental terminal said we can change out the car at Naples airport so we pulled up at this really small airport and found out straight away that we were not going to get our SUV here so we left disappointed but rolled up into the hotels car park and we checked in, OMG finally some good luck we got upgraded into a 2 bedroom suite and we were well happy, the room is fantastic we are staying here for 3 nights which will give us a chance to get some laundry done and prepare for the up and coming drive across the States to various towns en-route to Las Vegas for New Years Eve. We needed some provisions but first we needed to sort out the car, so we called around and found out that we now had to drive 35 miles North to Fort Myers Airport to change out the car. We reluctantly got into the car and drove to the airport were we changed out the car to a Nissan Rouge or Qashqai as its known in Europe, so now very happy with the SUV we went back to the hotel but first stopped off at Publix to get some food for tonight. We just made it back in time for the last 30 minutes of happy hour. My first draft Stella and a really nice red wine for Lorna, it was also funny to hear from the others who were now checked into there hotel for the night and maybe not so desirable as ours. They even referenced it as a hookers motel LOL. So tonight we decided to stay in watch our catch up TV and “Im a celebrity” that we have missed over the last 12 days and have a pizza. Lorna also washed all our clothes as this suite has a washing machine and dryer. BUT about 50 minutes into the second showing the Fire Stick packed in and that was it. So now tomorrow I have to try and find a Best Buy and buy a new Fire Stick Bloody Hell. What a day.
